SUSTAINABILITY

The proposed development is located close to existing services and transport links. The site is located within 1.3 kilometres of an Asda supermarket, 1.4km of Newton Leys Primary School and a number of local parks and play areas.

The bus stops closest to the site are currently located on Lansbury Road and St Helena Avenue, providing access to the X2, X3, X14 and 100 services (Lansbury Road) and the 603, 701, 943 and MAA002 services (St Helena Avenue). Bletchley Railway Station is located approximately 4km north of the site and provides connections to London Euston, Birmingham New Street and Milton Keynes Central. Bletchley Bus Station is located opposite the railway station. The railway station also has 495 car parking spaces and space to park up to 58 bicycles.

A number of features will be built into the development to encourage long-term sustainability including a local centre, areas for public open space and children’s play, cycle parking at each dwelling and natural trails around the perimeter of the site and footpath connections to existing rights of way.
